Wiping Away Tears
I cannot stand to hear their sobs, it breaks my heart in two.
The helplessness I feel inside, of nothing I can do.
I cannot bring her back again, to wipe away their tears.
I have no mother's love to give and help them calm their fears.
Oh, how unfair it seems to me, to lose a mom so young,
With years and years ahead of them, their lives have just begun.
They will not see her be with them, the day they choose to wed,
She will not get to help me with our grandkids to be fed.
And so I must, with faith and hope, upon the Lord rely,
To help them wipe away their tears, while for her they still cry.
