Transformed

Transformed

When last we parted no words could be said.
Life slowly drained as you lay on your bed.
Your battered frame succumbed to death at last.
And from this mortal realm, you then did pass.
Your body then to me was but a shell.
I knew where you had gone and you were well.
I tarried on remembering your face.
And longing to come join you in that place.
A realm of beauty beyond all belief.
An end to all my suffering and grief.
Now once again all words escape my tongue.
I marvel at the angel you've become.
Your countenance so brilliant and so bright.
And filled with love you radiate pure light.
The woman weak with illness I had seen
Exists no more transformed into a queen.
The hope born in my heart has come to pass.
Together, reunited now at last.
