The Single-Parent Blues

The Single-Parent Blues

I'm worn, I'm sore, my body aches, I'm ready for some sleep
I've cooked and drove and refereed, I'm tired and I'm beat
I've helped with hair and made their meals, I've even found their shoes
So now I have a whopping case, of single-parent blues

I'm grateful for my kids so dear, they bring me lots of pride
But how I wish my wife were here, I miss her by my side
Tomorrow I will rise again, and do it all anew
With patience and a prayer I'll fight, the single parent blues.
