Awareness

I look around at changes everywhere
Life is so different than it was before
Though I miss all we had I'm more aware
That up ahead great blessings are in store
I'm more aware life is not as it seems
'Tis but a muted dream of who we are
Heirs to a glory grand as kings and queens
This life, though brief, will help propel us far
I pray my vision yet will still expand
My patience and my empathy increase
As I tread in the footsteps of the man
Who bore my sins and suffering and grief
