Sacrament

Sacrament

On this Sabbath day, here's a poem we were inspired to write while partaking of the sacrament. We are so grateful for this sacred ordinance that allows us to commune with Christ on a weekly basis. We are eternally grateful for His atoning sacrifice!

Sacrament

Now reverently I sing of His great life,
Preparing my heart that I might receive
The emblems of His holy sacrifice,
Remembering all He has done for me

I listen to the prayer upon the bread,
Reflecting on His time upon the cross.
Because of Him, I'll live again, though dead.
My temple shall not be forever lost.

Then finally my lips drink from the cup.
Oh, how He bled there in Gethsemane!
Through Him, I can be clean and yet raised up.
I love Him so because He lovest me.

I pray this week I may be stronger still.
Oh, may I not forget all He has done!
May my heart be aligned with His great will.
I’m grateful for my Savior, God's own Son.
