Redemption

This poem fits in well with this Easter season, addressing the effects of the Fall and its remedy through the Father and the Son.

Redemption

Before mortality, we lived, with Father up above.
We walked with Him and knew Him well, and felt his perfect love.
Now Father was superior, a perfect, holy man.
To help us grow and be like Him, He shared with us a plan.
He wanted to help us obtain, a body like His own.
And also be perfected too, through faith we'd learn and grow.
A testing ground was first prepared, this world we now call Earth.
And each would come and take their turn, and enter here through birth.
Now Adam came before us all and gained a dust-formed frame.
Along with Eve, they talked with God and knew His holy name.
Then, Mother Eve, she was beguiled and ate forbidden fruit.
In order to remain with her, then Adam followed suit.
It seemed the plan had been destroyed, for now, death entered in.
No more could they converse with God, because of transgression.
And physically, their bodies too would now succumb to death.
A separation would occur when they took their last breath.
But Father had prepared for this, He knew this day would come.
A Savior He did choose for us, 'twas Jesus Christ His Son.
He came and dwelled here on this earth, and suffered for our sins.
That through repentance and our faith, God's face we'd see again.
And then He triumphed over death, His body he did claim.
Thus resurrection comes to all, a gift he freely gave.
By Adam, death did enter in and ushered in the Fall.
Through Christ, redemption came to us. With love, He saved us all.
