Recipients

This poem was inspired by the April 2020 General Conference in which President Russell M. Nelson, in commemoration of the bicentennial anniversary of the First Vision, led Latter-day Saints in the Hosanna Shout.

Recipients

Two centuries passed and here we stand today
Recipients of such a legacy
A young boy yearning kneeling down to pray
In vision Father Son his eyes did see
Recipients of voices from the dust
The doctrine of our Savior clarified
Authority again doth God entrust
That souls and families might be sanctified
Together Saints unite from diverse lands
With voices raised in shouts of jubilee
Hosanna cries to heaven God and Lamb
"Oh Lord, Redeemer, Save Us!" is our plea.
As to a teenage boy within a wood
The mandate, "Hear Him!" doth our God implore
That we might draw upon the source of good
And live with Them on high forevermore
