Upon My Shoulders
Sometimes you wonder what life has in store
You feel like you can't handle anymore
The path you've climbed has been so hard and steep
It's stained with all the tears that you did weep
Sometimes you feel like throwing in the towel
With life's unfairness you've been crying, "Foul!"
The road ahead seems rocky and so long
Where can you find the strength to carry on?
There is a man who's forged a path ahead
Look up and listen to the words He's said
Come unto me and cast your burden great
Upon my shoulders I shall bear this weight
When you are feeling down and so depressed
Come unto me and I shall give you rest
I thought that everything in life was fine
I could just cruise until the finish line
I looked and only found joy all around
Then suddenly my world came crashing down
The devastation I've felt hurts so bad
At times I am consumed with feeling sad
I wonder if my grief will ever end
I wonder if my heart will ever mend
Then once again I rise up off the floor
And bravely listen to His words once more
Come unto me and cast your burden great
