The New Year

Here's a poem I wrote of hope for the New Year and blessed reunions with departed loved ones happening before we know it. Happy New Year!

The New Year

The New Year is here, the old year is past.
Time moves so quickly, it happens so fast.
The future ahead, it seems far away.
Yet years far behind, seem like yesterday.
Sometimes when we think, of loved ones we've lost,
The grief seems too much, it's too great a cost.
It feels like forever, ‘til we'll meet again.
How can we move on, while missing our friend?
Years stretch before us, with decades to go,
Time marches onward, impossibly slow.
But when you reflect, on memories dear,
Doesn't it feel like, you just had them here?
Before you can blink, the day will arrive,
You'll find yourself standing, next to their side.
The New Year has come, the old year is gone.
Until your reunion, won't be very long.
