Santa Claus Came to Our Town

Here's a fun Christmas poem I wrote to balance out my more serious themes. Enjoy!

Santa Claus Came to Our Town

Santa Claus came to our town,
He ate our cookies too.
Now his sleigh can't leave the ground,
He's stuck here, just like glue.
He needs some help here, real quick!
We've got to move his sleigh.
Let's give a hand to Old St. Nick,
And help him on his way.
He's got to lose those pounds he gained,
He's got to lose some fat.
We've got to ease the reindeer's strain,
And do it right now - stat!
"I've got a potion! Those pounds will melt.
Santa's fat will burn.
This Elf will soon be looking svelte,
There's no need for concern.
Here you go Kris, drink this fast,
Down it in one swig.
Then you can move again at last,
And climb back on your rig."
So down the hatch the potion flowed,
And Santa wiped his chin.
His skin took on a healthy glow,
His weight went down again.
And with a burp and then a sigh,
He climbed back in his sleigh.
The reindeer once again could fly.
They soon were on their way.
Be careful when it's Christmas eve,
What treats you give Saint Nick.
Or he might never ever leave,
He could become too sick!
