Oh What a Wondrous Time of Year

Here is a Christmas poem I wrote that I turned into a song. Please feel free to share it. He lives! Merry Christmas! Below, you will find links to listen to the music and to view/download a PDF copy of the song.

Oh What a Wondrous Time of Year

Oh what a wondrous time of year, we celebrate His birth.
With love He left our Father's throne, to dwell with men on earth.
He acted with no selfishness and took a mortal frame.
That He might do our Father's will, and glorify His name.
Immanuel, Immanuel, Our Savior's life began.
He came down to our fallen world, that He might rescue man.
And so He lived a perfect life, in Him, there was no guile.
He faced temptations of all sorts, endured the harshest trials.
Below all things, He did descend, that He might perfectly
Extend to us in times of pain, the mercy that we need.
And when that babe who lived as man, did all He had begun,
He willingly gave up His life, "Oh Father it is done."
And though He died upon the cross, yet death could have no sting.
He took His body once again, a resurrected King.
He lives, he lives, who once was dead! And all who die will live!
Because the babe of Bethlehem, this precious gift did give.
Lift up your hearts! Rejoice! Rejoice! The Lord of Hosts has come!
Give thanks this season and all year, for God's gift of His Son.
