How grateful I am for the freedoms born in the United States that have given birth to freedom and democratic constitutions around the globe. As we head into this weekend celebrating the Fourth of July, I wrote this poem to express my love for this great land.
Oh Land of Liberty
On this thy anniversary, oh land of liberty,
I contemplate within my heart, what gifts I might give thee.
How may I show my gratitude, for all thou hast bestowed?
How may I pay my countless debt, to thee for all I owe?
Thou art a beacon burning bright, to people far and wide.
As I consider all thou art, my heart doth swell with pride.
I pray I never will forget, thou art a land unique,
That offers opportunities, to gain the lives we seek.
Oh, land of liberty divine, with love I celebrate,
The blessings and the providence, of these United States.
