Look

Look

“Why from the land of Pharaoh have we fled
To wander in this wilderness forlorn?”
They cried and cursed the source of their strange bread -
Complained against Jehovah, God’s firstborn.

And so He answered them with serpents fierce.
And many bitten died as if by sword.
Yet others found though their thick skin was pierced,
They still could find salvation from the Lord.

They simply had to look that they might live,
And gaze upon the serpent made of brass.
So too with sin, the Lord will us forgive.
The angel of destruction - he shall pass.

Why must man complicate our Savior’s ways?
The path to Christ is straight and it is sure.
If man shall look to Him through all his days,
Through Christ, from sin and death, may man be cured.
