Birthright

Here's a poem I've written about our mortal experience.

Birthright

At times on Earth, I feel I don't belong
A stranger dwelling in a foreign land
At times within my heart, there is a song
A melody of memories faint yet grand
At times I feel I almost can recall
A light and love so glorious and bright
Within the universe around us all
My heritage the source of my birthright
At times I long to roam the skies again
To soar both far and wide unbound and free
Behold the faces of celestial friends
Embracing my eternal destiny
